The ACCU-CHEK Compact Plus Meter Kit is the Accu Chek unbeatable product which obviously vises a certain kind of diabetic persons.

As a recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic subject, I had only one thing in mind; find my first glucose meter. The ACCU-CHEK Compact Plus Meter Kit is one of the biggest meters available in the market. But that’s due to the fact that it has everything included in it; the strips in a drum, the codes, the lancets… I don’t mind having a glucose meter of this size as long as I have less ‘little things’ to carry.

It’s so easy to use that I didn’t have to read the manual. Simple as a ballpoint pen, all you have to do is 3 clicks and you get your number in 5 seconds.
I admit that the flat lancets are sometimes a bit difficult to uncap, load and work. But once they are loaded, I don’t have to worry about anything like touching the electrode or the blood uptake end.

About the lancing device, it DOES hurt less than other free meters. It is removable but can be used still attached to the meter itself. The fact that it hurts less than other meters has apparently something to do with vibration. This Accu Chek meter just gets in and out the skin, while others hit and wiggles it.

The reason why I think that this meter is unbeatable is that the all in one system makes testing easy at any time of the day or night. Even if I am half asleep in the middle of the night, I do the 3 clicks and I have my number. Testing with this glucose meter is like a breeze, it gives possibility of alternate site testing.

The other reason is that I don’t need to have a watch now. Since I have got the ACCU-CHEK Compact Plus Meter Kit, all I have to do is turn it on and I can see my previous blood glucose reading in addition to the date and time.

I have heard many people complaining about vials of test strips scattering everywhere in the floor because they always get them accidently knocked-over. Well, I wish they could all use this glucose meter because I can turn it on as many times as I want without any test strip coming out!

Compared to other glucose meters available in the market, this one has smaller strip barrels. But I don’t have to worry because there’s only one way to load them. If I can’t load them, means I am doing it the wrong way. I am really happy I bought this glucose meter as my first one, it has everything to make me feel comfortable about my diabetes. Thanks to the trend included in it, I can average the previous 7 days readings and have a number to compare to new readings. I also thought it’s very handy to download them onto a computer with software and cable.
