Actually when I saw it for the first time I didn’t realize it was a glucose meter. It’s the first time I see such variety in colors and innovation in design and it has such a small size. I really couldn’t decide which color to pick; pink glow, silver moon, limelight or jet black. I finally picked the jet black one. That color makes it look like VIP accessory.

In the beginning I thought of getting this glucose meter as a back up one. Then I realized how perfect it is for any situation, especially for testing on the go. It’s a 3 step testing system with a result in just 5 seconds. I forgot about all those bells, whistles and complicated screens. I just had the number I want from the smallest meter. The screen is easy-to-read large screen with 2-way scrolling buttons.

This glucose measuring system is really great; it integrates the lancets into the meter offering the convenience of an all in one system. It really does all the work. All I had to do was to insert the preloaded-six-lancets drum and it begins testing. I highly recommend it for people who need to save time on handling lancets.

The Ultimate EZ Smart Plus Diabetes Monitoring System is a 3rd generation biosensor technology meter presented by Ez Smart.

As it’s the improved version of the Ez Smart meter, after few months I decided to upgrade to the Smart Plus one. First thing that I didn’t understand is the very small print of the manual. It’s so small that I couldn’t read it and the directions are not what I would call ‘precise’. Finally I had to call the support number and I had the manual mailed for free. I was so happy to find such professional support operator that I almost forgot all the trouble I had with the manual.

The FreeStyle Freedom Lite Diabetes Blood Glucose Monitoring System (Retail) is an innovating glucose meter presented by Abbott.

As a matter of fact, having programmable alarms in my glucose meter to remind me when to test is unexpected. I didn’t think I could find such meter till I found this one. The 4 alarms are really handy. I don’t have to keep looking at my watch anymore.

The lancing device is absolutely painless, it requires the world’s smallest sample size that is 0,3 microliters only! To be honest I had to get used to that after all the glucose meters I used for many years. I also got used to having big size glucose meters. The unit of this one is so smooth and small that I had to get used to handling it carefully so that it doesn’t jump of my hand.

Although the strips are a bit expensive and not included in the package, they are available everywhere and I don’t have to worry about running out of them like before. I also think the cost issue is the same with any glucose meter.

After over a year of using the Ultra One Touch glucose meter, I decided to upgrade to the UltraSmart one. That’s why I keep comparing both since I got used to the old one and was really satisfied with it.

There’s no doubt the UltraSmart glucose meter is the best meter I ever had. I can spend hours flipping through the menu and the battery still is running strong. A part from being fast and easy to use, this glucose meter is like a little health diary. It gives me track of insulin, carbohydrates,fats , proteins…. This meter is really an all in one system. I could even call it an ‘electronic nurse’, it tells me about my weight, height, blood pressure and cholesterol. OneTouch UltraSmart Blood Glucose Monitoring System helps me being much more attentive to my health and needs and it even reminds me of my doctor visit time!

Few weeks ago I got to know my diagnose if diabetes, I never thought I would need a glucose meter. It took me a while to understand that this is the perfect one.
First thing I did was to watch the DVD and the educational booklet that goes with it. It’s so easy to use that it was the only time I ever watched it. Next step was to get used to the finger picking. I don’t remember the day I got my first glucose meter. It was such a long time ago, and I kept changing meters until I found this one. A part from being very easy to use with a 2 step testing, it’s one of the cheapest in the market.

Although the package doesn’t include the strips, it includes a free lancing device with10 lancets.The strips are not included , but I can find them everywhere. All I have to remember is to put the microchip in the kit every time I load a new strip box.

Comparing it to other glucose meters, I realized that it’s the easiest to use for old people who have trouble measuring their blood glucose themselves. It’s simple and accurate glucose meter for self glucose measurers. We were happy to see grandma’s reaction while using it for the first time. She didn’t even read the instructions. She inserted the strip and the meter turned on automatically then she applied blood and had the result after 10 seconds. She was nicely surprised by how easy to read the display is and how accurate the reading was.
